A Life in Southern Rock
Eddie Stone is a Macon, Georgia area native, singer, songwriter, Hammond organist, pianist, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist whose career runs deep through Southern rock history. By age 13, he was already playing guitar and singing with his first band, The Nightriders, performing local skating rink gigs in the mid-1960s and getting his first taste of paid live performance.
A Hammond organ player since the late 1960s, Eddie brings a feel and authenticity shaped by decades on stage and in the studio. As a founding member and surviving original member of Doc Holliday, Eddie was part of a band whose Southern rock catalog reached Billboard's Top 30 in the U.S. and earned Top 10 chart success in Europe. Doc Holliday was started by Bruce Brookshire, who served as the band's founder and bandleader, and Eddie has always held deep respect for Bruce, John Samuelson, and the close creative bond they shared as original members. Through the years, Eddie, Bruce, and John worked closely together through the music, the road, the writing, the recording, and the life that came with it.
